The Office of State Representative David Richardson will be having office hours on every first and third Wednesday of each month from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the North Bay Village City Hall located on 1666 Kennedy Causeway, 3rd Floor. The purpose of these hours is to assist any constituents in need of help with a state office or agency. We can help you get in contact with Florida State departments who deal with:
- Condo Association Issues
- Driver’s License
- Food Stamps
In addition, if you have concerns that you would like to voice concerning District 113, you could stop by and let us know and we will take full note of them. We hope to assist anyone that stops by!
Representative David Richardson was first elected to the Florida House in August 2012 for the term that began in November 2012. This was the first public office that he campaigned for and subsequently the first public office he has held. He represents House District 113 with includes all of the City of North Bay Village, City of Miami Beach, downtown Miami and Little Havana.
During his first term in office, Representative Richardson filed a bill calling for stricter oversight at the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, including the establishment of an Office of Inspector General. The language of this bill was included in an omnibus insurance bill and today we have an Inspector General at the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation. In the 2014 Legislative Session, Representative Richardson passed legislation authorizing public health trusts to lease certain real property, requested funds for several local projects and expanded opportunities for retail pharmacies.
Representative Richardson was born in Houston, Texas. He moved to Florida in 1968, attending Lyman High School in Longwood before going on to attend the University of Central Florida where he earned degrees in Biology and Accounting. After graduating from the University of Central Florida, he attended the University of Tampa earning his Masters of Business Administration. He began his career as an auditor working for the US Department of Defense, after which he joined Ernst and Young, an international accounting and consulting firm. In 1993 he started his own small advisory services firm. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida for 29 years.
He resides in the City of Miami Beach, a part of Miami Dade County.
