ANIMAL CONTROL |
| |
| |
In an effort to provide a safe and clean environment for all residents, dog owners are prohibited from letting pets run at large. While walking a dog which must be on a leash the owner must carry a means to clean up behind the animal.
These regulations are vigorously enforced. Violators will be issued citations that carry a $200 fine if not contested. A maximum fine of $500 may be imposed if the citation is unsuccessfully contested in court.
If you are interested in animals, you may want to serve on the Animal Control Advisory Committee. Contact City Hall for more information about this volunteer group.
The City also works with the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida to control the number of undomesticated cats in the city limits through a program of spaying and neutering. For more information, call (305) 756-7171. |
