Parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas is prohibited at all times with the exception of service vehicles, which shall be allowed to park between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., for not more than two hours.
The law includes a motor vehicle or trailer that is used "in commerce." The vehicle is presumed to be used in commerce if it bears a sign, insignia, trademark or business designation or is used for the transportation of persons or property for compensation. The fact that the vehicle may be designed for private use or may be used commercially only on a part-time basis does not exempt it from the law.
Vehicles used by licensed contractors of service establishments doing work on premises may be parked for a reasonable time at the job site during the day. |
